What support will I receive as a franchisee?

As a franchisee, you’ll receive ongoing support, including marketing assistance, training, business development strategies, and access to our national supplier network.

How long does training take and where will I be trained?

Up to 6 weeks. It is competency based, so if you already have experience in flooring or sales, you may be able to complete your training earlier. Depending on your location, we will try and place you as close as possible from your home to your training store or stores.

 What is the initial investment to become a franchisee?

As a guide, you will need a minimum $150,000 but the initial investment will vary depending on location, size of the store, and other factors. Our team will walk you through the detailed costs to give you a better understanding.

 Will I have a say in store location?

Yes, we work with you to identify prime locations within your desired region. Our team will provide advice to ensure you’re set up in a location with great growth potential.

 Do I need prior experience in flooring or retail?

No. We provide all franchisees with full training in sales, operations, and product knowledge. A passion for business and a commitment to customer satisfaction are the most important qualities.

 How long does it take to open a new store?

From initial discussions to opening day, the process typically takes around 3 – 6 months. We aim to ensure all franchisees are fully prepared before launch, including store setup and training.

 How long is the franchise agreement?

The franchise agreement is 5 years with 2 additional 5-year renewal terms.

Am I required to work in the store?

Absolutely. All of our franchisees are required to be hands on in their business.

 I own an independent flooring store, can I convert it to a Solomons Flooring or Carpet Call store?

Yes! We are always keen to hear from local store owners who may want to become a franchisee to take advantage of our systems and marketing. The cost to convert is also a lot less than opening a brand-new store.
